Animal Control ORDINANCE

The Town Board has recently received several dog complaints. Free running pets are found to be a nuisance that many people become frustrated with. Nuisance animals are defined in our ordinance as an animal which:

1) Habitually worries, chases or molests other animals or persons traveling peaceably in any public place.
2) Unreasonably annoys, injures or endangers the safety, health, comfort or repose of any person.
3) Interferes with, obstructs or renders dangerous for passage any public highway or right-of-way or waters used by the public.
4) Chases vehicles, excessively makes disturbing noises including, but not limited to, continued and/or repeated howling, barking or other sounds causing unreasonable annoyance or discomfort to neighbors or others in close proximity to the premises where the animal is kept or is found.

Please enjoy your animals, but be responsible and considerate pet owners.

The Board of Supervisors recently amended the licensing policy. Once your dog is licensed, the license no longer needs to be renewed annually. The fee remains $10.00. Please contact Town Clerk Sue Krasaway (590-6746) for licensing information.
